OUR SERVICES & CAPABILITIES

INJECTION MOLDING

Our staff can provide design assistance to help develop new ideas and products as well as working with existing products to produce them more economically. We offer low quantity to high quantity production runs. We work with a broad array of engineering materials such as elastomers, structural foam and filled materials as well as a vast array of different colors. We can assist you with finding a suitable material that best fits your needs.

We are a UL certified molder providing total traceability from raw material to final product.

Let 3D Plastics be your “one source” supplier for all your plastics needs, from concept to final product.

OVER-MOLDING

Over-molding is a cost effective and often more efficient way of adding a sub-component into a molded part. 3D Plastics presently produces many of our customers' products with metal and plastic sub-components molded in. It is very common to use threaded inserts, bushings, contacts, and plastic substrates. Many inserts typically range from stainless steel to brass to anodized aluminum. More often an overmolding application will have a softer plastic material molded over a rigid plastic material, giving the final product a soft feel and yet a strong rigid base.

TOOLING

Often a product requires a new mold and 3D Plastics is prepared to assist you in creating the mold to your requirements. We work with local and offshore companies in order to produce the highest quality and most cost effective molds.

If a mold exists, we can determine what is required to make it perform for both our customer and 3D. A Computer Aided Design (CAD) will definitely help in designing the quality molds required to produce high quality parts

    MOLD CLASSIFICATIONS

Cycles: 1,000,00 or more

Built for extremely high production. This is the highest priced mold and is made with only the highest quality materials.

Cycles: Not exceeding 1,000,000

Medium to high production mold, good for abrasive materials and/or parts requiring close tolerances. This is a high quality, fairly high priced mold.

Cycles: Under 500,000

Medium production mold. This is a very popular mold for low to medium production needs. Most common price range.

Cycles: Under 100,000

Low production mold. Used only for limited production preferably with non-abrasive materials. Low to moderate price range.

Cycles: Not exceeding 500

Prototype only. This mold will be constructed in the least expensive manner possible to produce a very limited quality of prototype parts.

MARKETS SERVED

Primarily 3D Plastics manufactures for the below industries. However, we do not limit ourselves to a particular industry and are proud to serve you with your specific needs.

The consumer industry is comprised of various parts and products that may go on to be sold to the individual buyer. For this reason, the design, appearance, and quality is just as important as it is for the other industries. While the product may not need the same characteristics as other industries, the attention that we pay to the product is not any less.

We mold a wide range of molding consumer products, such as firework holders, magnifying lenses, and various enclosures for today’s youth. Our staff is fully capable and will assist in any design or engineering questions.

The dental industry is a unique industry for injection molding. Many dental office components are made of thermoplastics.

Additional dental products that could be manufactured include caps, holders, handles, and bezels for lights.

Plastic has became a low cost alternative for products within the medical industry. While the cost may be lower, the complexity and accuracy are comparable to a more expensive method for producing the part. The medical industry, much like the dental industry, is comprised of many thermoplastic and silicone products. Common medical products consist of gaskets, DNA holders, and various housings for medical components.

We have extensive experience molding plastic products that are used within the electrical market. Many products within this market, demand very tight tolerances and specific dimensions, used in electrical components. The products range from housings to electronic packaging to various components. These products are often characterized by very complex designs. 3D Plastics works with designers and engineers to help certify that the customer’s product is taken from concept to final design.

Industrial markets demand stiff products that will not be susceptible to bending under extreme pressure or heat. Collaborating with designers and engineers, our staff can make sure your product can stand up to these demanding characteristics and give you the desired performance.

Various materials also help add structure to an industrial product, that may help retain the rigidness of your product under extreme factors. Our staff is glad to assist you in determining what material may be most suitable for your particular project. We can produce parts for your industrial project ranging from a few ounces to 2 pounds.
